Madagascar 2: Escape 2 Africa

I never saw the first Madagascar movie, but that didn't stop my enjoyment. Dreamworks show again that they know how to make an entertaining, funny movie. Especially the penguins steal the show, they should get their own movie.
Kids will love the funny moves and addictive score, and adults will laugh at the little inside jokes and the return of the Killer Lady.

I thorougly enjoyed this, and you have to be quite cynical not to take little Alex into your hearts. Great voices also, especially from Ben Stiller and Sacha Baron Cohen (better known as Borat)

My favourite quote : Melman: Listen Moto Moto. You better treat this lady like a queen because you my friend, you found yourself the perfect women. If I was ever so lucky to find the perfect women I would give her flowers everyday and not just any flowers, okay? Her favorites are orchids, white, and breakfast in bed... six loaves of wheat toast with butter on both sides, no crust. The way she likes it. I'd be her shoulder to cry on and her best friend and I'd spend everyday trying to think of how to make her laugh. She has the most, most amazing laugh. Well that's what I would do if were you

The sequel to 2005's "Madagascar", in which New York Zoo animals, Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo, still stranded on Madagascar, start to leave the island. All of a sudden, they land in the wilderness of Africa, where Alex meets the rest of his family, but has trouble communicating with them after spending so much time at the Central Park Zoo

Tropic Thunder

This movie had some mixed reviews, but personally I thought it was very hilarious. It's a crafty parody on movies like Platoon, Apocalypse Now and Hamburger Hill. And the numerous inside jokes made me laugh out loud. The cast is also well chosen, with Jack Black suffering from cold turkey, Ben Stiller playing a strange mixture of Rambo and MacGyver, and Tom Cruise as a wonderful caricature of a movie mogul. But the greatest surprise is Robert Downey Jr., who delivers a wonderful performance as 5 times Acadamy Award winner Kirk Lazarus.

On top of that the movie criticizes actors in general, the Oscars in particular and Hollywood bigtime...quite funny (and controversial) for a Hollywood Production.

Make sure you arrive on time at the movie, as it starts with a hilarious collection of fake movie trailers, highlighting some of the most famous movies that these 'actors' play in.

And stay on after the movie for some really funny R 'n' B moves by Tom Cruise.

Quote from Tropic Thunder:

Kirk Lazarus: Everybody knows you never go full retard.
Tugg Speedman: What do you mean?
Kirk Lazarus: Check it out. Dustin Hoffman, 'Rain Man,' look retarded, act retarded, not retarded. Counted toothpicks, cheated cards. Autistic, sho'. Not retarded. You know Tom Hanks, 'Forrest Gump.' Slow, yes. Retarded, maybe. Braces on his legs. But he charmed the pants off Nixon and won a ping-pong competition. That ain't retarded. Peter Sellers, "Being There." Infantile, yes. Retarded, no. You went full retard, man. Never go full retard. You don't buy that? Ask Sean Penn, 2001, "I Am Sam." Remember? Went full retard, went home empty handed...

Through a series of freak occurrences, a group of actors shooting a big-budget war movie are forced to become the soldiers they are portraying
